Here is a selection of images of Mina LaFleur from the recent Roustabout Revue at the Blue Moon Pub on Queen near Broadview. I’d seen Mina before at the Toronto Burlesque Festival last year at the Revival, but hadn’t been able to get any good images, so I’m happy that I had better results ( I hope!) here.
The image on the left is her favourite from the set, and it works quite nicely as a print. Up until now I’ve been working mostly with Somerset Velvet matte paper, which has a terrific texture. I’m finding, though, that with the darker, grainier shots, the images are a little too soft. This was the case at the Revue, where the lighting was quite dark, and frequently coming mostly from behind the performers. I’ve been trying these prints out on Epson’s Photo Luster 270, and am very happy with the results – great contrast and detail.
