I’m bringing my limited edition fine art photographs of burlesque performers to Cabbagetown’s Jet Fuel Coffee Shop this July. Starting Tuesday, July 2, (with an opening reception on the 3rd at 8 PM) the exhibition, titled “The Garden of Earthy Delights,” includes images of burlesque legend Satan’s Angel, who first performed in Toronto in 1969 at the Victory Burlesque, and Tiffany Carter, Miss Nude Universe 1975, as well as local and international “Neo-Burlesque” performers from events in Toronto and Montréal.
This was originally meant to be a short-term project in 2010 – a break from landscape photography. Seeing the results, though, and continuing to work with such a diverse, creative group of entertainers, I don’t see myself running out of energy or subject matter any time soon. It’s just a different kind of landscape.
The show opens July 2nd and runs through the 31stat Jet Fuel Coffee Shop, 519 Parliament Street,Toronto. Opening reception takes place on July 3 from 8 PM.
Hope to see you there!
