Every once in a while, in any genre, a performance comes along that causes breath to halt, jaws to drop. For me, these would include my first Frank Zappa concert, Leon Russell’s tour back in the (19)70’s, La La La Human Steps, Ry Cooder at Convocation Hall, and the night in Montreal in the late 60’s when Ted Nugent’s drummer threw his whole kit into the audience. I get around.
This year at the Montréal Burlesque Festival it was Michelle L’amour, performing “Claire de Lune” You can see a video at her website, but really, you had to be there. Hopefully my images do her performance and her workshop justice…particularly if you enlarge them by clicking on the small box in the lower right corner of the gallery.
